Hello Friend,
After more than 18 months of work, the GIS Standards & Competencies Committee is proud to make available the third edition of the Competencies for Implementation Facilitators. The changes made in this third edition reflect an effort to account more comprehensively for equity in implementation processes.
Besides this enhanced focus on equity in implementation, this edition of the competencies has... Clearly articulated "Facilitator Actions," which describe necessary behaviors when facilitating an implementation effort New sub-competencies that hone in on the essential aspects of guiding implementation efforts across the 6 competency domains An updated glossary, clarifying terms common to implementation efforts and used throughout the document An updated list of resources for beginner, intermediate, and expert implementation facilitators
Additional resources will be added to this edition over the coming months as well, including a "Quick Start Guide," a longer guidance document outlining the scope and intent of the competencies, and an online self-assessment tool designed to help practitioners at all levels of experience track their professional development in regard to facilitating implementation efforts.
