Sailing to and from Antarctica out of Ushuaia, Argentina
We generally make landings or Zodiac excursions twice a day. You will want to rug up before joining Zodiac cruises along spectacular ice cliffs or among grounded icebergs, keeping watch for whales, seals and porpoising penguins. Zodiacs will also transport you from the ship to land, where you can visit penguin rookeries, discover historic huts and explore some of our favourite spots along the peninsula.
Experience the Great White Continent on board Aurora's advanced, purpose-built expedition ship, "MV Greg Mortimer".
Accommodating 126 passengers and 74 staff and crew the Greg Mortimer remains true to their ethos with a focus on multiple landings, flexible itineraries and family atmosphere.

Follow in the footsteps of 'the Boss' on this quintessential polar voyage.  Experience the Antarctic Peninsula and set foot on the continent before making your way north to the spectacular Antarctic Sound, gateway to the Weddell Sea.  Embrace the adventure as you voyage further east, navigating as far as possible into the Weddell Sea, where Shackleton's 'Endurance' met its fate.  As you retrace the steps of this historic voyage, your expert expedition team will be by your side to enrich your journey with insights, wildlife spotting tips and stories of Shackleton's epic adventure all in the comfort of the incredible purpose built "Greg Mortimer".

As we cruise through the Antarctic Peninsula and also explore by zodiac, you will be mesmerised by grounded icebergs while watching for humpback, minke or orca whales.  Here we'll also find cheeky chinstrap and gentoo penguins near bustling penguin colonies.
