Friend, what's on your list in 2018? |

Hi Friend and welcome to our first edition of "Secret Women's Business" for 2018.
After a great year of touring in 2017 I was excited to kick off 2018 with our first ever trip to Mexico, Cuba and Guatemala. What an amazing experience these countries were and so different and diverse both culturally and historically. From the magnificent Aztec and Mayan ruins and archaeological sites to the colourful religious festivals, the food, the people, the architecture and the artwork, Mexico has it all. Cuba is like stepping into a time warp (and not the Rocky Horror type). It's like someone stopped the clock when the Russians left and nothing has moved since except the paint slowly peeling off the magnificent buildings of days gone by. But it has. Looking at Cuba one might think that they are struggling and have nothing to offer as their people are doing it tough, however in many areas of medicine and technology they are leading the way especially in the area of biomedical science where they have had some incredible discoveries and breakthroughs. It's a challenging destination, but worth the effort. If you go to Cuba, remember it's a communist ruled country. It's nothing like home and you'll leave there knowing how privileged we are to live in a free country with almost everything at our fingertips. I personally found Cuba to be very humbling and very thought provoking.
If you live in or around Melbourne please check out the details of my Information Day coming up on 21st April at Hotel Rendezvous in the city. I'll also be heading down to Sydney in the coming months as 7 of the 12 ladies already booked on our 2019 Antarctica trip are from that area. If you live in or around Sydney and would be interested in catching up with me while I'm down there please email me and I'll make sure you hear more when I have a date and place locked in. "You can't take the world with you, go and discover" Happy travels, Judy. |

| | | My new best friend....For years now I've been on the search for a good neck pillow and have tried many different types, some better than others but until recently hadn't found 'the one' that was best for me. On a long stopover at LAX (Los Angeles) on our way home from Cuba I came across this one, a Cabeau Evolution Pillow. It is made of memory foam and comes in 5 different colours. It comes with ear plugs but they're useless but the pillow is excellent. It cost me about USD40 and they are available in Australia online from Travel Universe https://www.traveluniverse.com.au/Evolution-Pillow?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrMiwsOz62QIVWHq9Ch1WeA-YEAAYASAAEgJeH_D_BwE |
| | New Travel Product
More and more travellers love to take their own pillow with them when they travel, so those people will LOVE this new product from a Sydney inventor who has created the ultimate way to travel with your own pillow. Diane Tipper has created a new and innovative travel bag for travellers and their favourite home pillows. The ‘Go Pillow’ simplifies the way in which we travel with our own comfy pillows. Easily and effortlessly, it compacts the pillow to 1/3 of its original size. Designed in four travel-ready colours, Black, Navy, Royal and Red, the Go Pillow is durable and lightweight. A key feature of the Go Pillow is that it is made from 100% water-resistant nylon, keeping pillows clean and dry in all types of weather. While over 800, 000 short term travellers are departing Australia yearly, Go Pillow inventor Diane Tipper says, “The need for our own pillow is becoming evident. Not only are we packing our pillows for health reasons, we also do it for comfort.”
Diane has a wonderful offer for Girls On Tour readers on her website www.gopillow.com.au - Using the Coupon Code: girlsontour - in the checkout you will receive a discount of $5 when you buy and shipping in Australia is free!! Support an Aussie inventor and save your sleep and some money at the same time!!

| Travel Tips:There was a good article published recently by THECONVERSATION.COM on medications that you might need to take with you overseas and making sure they're legal in the counties your visiting. Smartraveller reminds us that if you plan to take medication with you overseas, check with the embassy, high commission or consulate of the country before you go. Leave the medicine in its original packaging. And carry your prescription or a letter from your doctor. |
