Hey Friend
I was thinking this morning, that when I am passionate about something I get obsessed!
So much so that the craft of scrapbooking inspired me so much that I brought a big shop!
These were some of the happiest years of my life.
6 years in fact.
Although it was hard work, it didn’t feel like work because I was excited to get out of bed every morning and show up.
When the business started losing money my husband let me be, because he knew it was my OXYGEN.
He knew I ate, slept, and breathed it every day!
It was my creative space.
I became a collector, a hoarder even.
Over $100K sitting in my garage, waiting for TIME.
Time to enjoy my hobby, time to use my things, time to be inspired, time to enjoy life!
Most of all, TIME to scrapbook all the 1000’s photos of my children I had taken over the years.
TIME to record the memories.
But long story short we LOST everything in the last recession.
Another Obsession was BORN…
How to make money, how to rebuild our businesses, how to get leads, how to market online.
Fast forward 10 years and I’m more obsessed and committed than ever.
Over the years I’ve transitioned.
Along each step of the journey I have grown, each new topic I have learned has propelled me to the next level.
The goal originally was to make money to have TIME freedom to spend on my crafts and buy a home again.
But then it turned into an addiction.
Now every little bit of time is spent on my business and very little time on my crafts.
It’s horrible to come to the realisation that you are getting older, that TIME is running out, that I will never get to use all my things in a lifetime.
Unless I live to 200!
I wish I was younger, but I'm not.
Maybe you are feeling like you are running out of time to reach your goals too?
But I think that’s why we must become obsessed with what we do in our business.
We must get addicted.
Otherwise, we won’t push ourselves to do all that is required.
Because building a coaching business online is HARD work.
You must make sacrifices; you must give up some time and some of the things you love doing if you want to make it.
That is just the REALITY.
We all love to sell the promise of the freedom lifestyle.
It is possible.
But you must earn it FIRST.
We are much luckier than those 20 years back.
We have better systems, we have automation, we have access to cheaper outsourcing from all around the world.
I have team members from Pakistan, the Philippines, and India.
But you have to be obsessed enough to push yourself to do the work because at the beginning it's mostly on your own unless you have money to invest in a team straight away.
There is NO getting out of it.
In the last 10 years, I have made many mistakes, following many of the wrong people and wrong strategies, but throughout that time I have found what I believe to be the right steps to growing a thriving coaching business online.
