Hey Friend
I was just thinking, it’s such a common misconception in the online marketing space that you have to have a big audience on your socials, or email list in order to be successful or create a decent income.
Look I get it.
I used to think the same thing for years and it held me back for a long time doing all ‘the things’ and following the wrong strategies that can literally take years organically.
I first jumped online when I was doing network marketing and I was trying to avoid the whole ‘talk to friends and family thing’ and walking the pavement hitting up random people.
When I think about it now, even the strategies they teach are so old school and the leaders would literally scold me for mentioning list buying and cold calling when I would learn this from the network marketing gurus. (Mike Dillard, Tracey Biller, Eric Worre etc to name a few)
The strategies the local network marketing meetings were teaching can simply hold you back.
I spent months building my first website to learn how to generate my own leads, only to get told I had to shut it down because the distributors were not allowed to market for leads online.
I got so disillusioned that they wasted my time that I left the company..
That was the beginning of my digital marketing journey and luckily for me, this led me to where I am today.
But it was not all a bed of roses, I can tell you I went down some countless rabbit holes following strategies that simply just took far too long to fruition.
Since my discovery, I came to realise the tremendous opportunity not only for me but for you too.
When it comes to building a business in this new era, if you don't take advantage of the fact there are literally millions of people on social media to prospect, you may very well get left behind.
It has never been more important to learn online organic marketing or paid advertising, and it’s never been easier to do.
You might be thinking that you have too:
- Blog for 2-3 years
- Start and grow a Podcast
- Grow a huge Facebook Business page
- Write an Amazon bestseller
- Get a ton of Subscribers…
Before you can create a decent income in your coaching/expert business, but that simply is not true.
Now, don’t get me wrong.
I’m not saying those things don’t count, of course, they do but the truth is you don’t have to have all those things or be an online marketing Rockstar before making a lot of money.
But what I can tell you, is that thinking you need all these things in place ‘first’ will only hold you back.
Even years…
The other myth is that you must have all these letters after your name to become a successful coach or consultant.
Once upon a time that could have been true but not anymore.
You see, the playing field has leveled, and the truth is anybody can self-learn to become a coach or consultant.
Or some would say an online expert or thought leader.
Whether you position yourself as an individual or business, if you can legitimately solve a problem for someone or fulfill a desire or want, you are in business!
Here is the other kicker, you do not even have to be the one who fulfills the solution. (lightbulb moment) In fact, you don’t have to know everything if you know where to find skilled people who do.
With the internet, we have thousands and thousands of skilled experts across the globe that are easy to connect with, hire, and pay from a few clicks of the mouse.
This might sound really foreign to you reading this that don’t know much about the online expert industry but just as an example I’ve worked with coaches in the USA, India, Philippines, Africa, Canada, and the United Kingdom all from the comfort of my home..
I have also hired experts from India, the Philippines, Dubai, and Africa to help on some projects.
The point is, sometimes things are not what they seem because the landscape of the world has changed.
Social media has changed the way things work, compared to 10+ years ago.
Fourteen years ago, I paid $12,000 for a business coach I found in the newspaper. Nowadays I just go search for one in a Facebook group and ask for recommendations or sift through the comments to hit somebody up.
If you are not prepared to be open to change then I can promise you, you will be left behind.

It’s not spending months building out the perfect website, writing 10 plus 3000-word articles, on-page SEO, off-page SEO, backlinking, article spinning, and posting on sites all across the internet hoping and praying someone visits your site. (I've been there)
