The Value of An Effective Onboarding Program
With unemployment for many skilled positions less than 2%, there's lots of competition for the best talent. The best employees are in demand and they know it. According to IBM research, 16% are actively looking for a new job. Employers are pouring time and money into their recruiting efforts, but there's another opportunity to ease the recruitment pressure. First impressions are important, especially when it comes to the first day at a new job. Yet conventional orientation methods frequently lack the information and experiences that new employees (especially millennials) value. A disorganized approach to onboarding can leave new recruits with a bad first impression that sticks, limiting their progress, their engagement, and their success.

NInfa Saunders to Speak at GEA Spring Conference
GEA is lining up some interesting speakers and topics for the April Spring Conference in Savannah. Our latest addition is Dr. Ninfa Saunders, President and CEO of Navicent Health in Macon.
Other invited speakers include Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr, Senator Johnny Isakson, and Georgia Department of Labor Commissioner Mark Butler.

Informative and Effective Training at Your Workplace
As an employer, you have an ethical and a legal obligation to maintain a working environment that’s free from discrimination and sexual harassment. Recent high profile incidents of sexual harassment have increased public awareness of workplace issues and the #metoo response from women across the US provides an indication of the pervasive nature of sexual harassment and sexual discrimination problems.
Even if your organization has a sexual harassment policy in place, it’s a very good idea to conduct training now, before an incident occurs that causes damage to your business.
