GREETINGS GARDENER!
So grateful for a lovely spring weekend. We gardened and hiked and made new beds, planted seeds and plants... on and on. The spring frenzy is on!
WEEDS! We have lots of weeds with purple flowers in our yard and woods. Some gardeners see weeds as the enemy, others see them as part of the garden.
Which is it for you? There may be some benefits worth taking a look at.
ASPARAGUS At our “absentee garden” near Pilot Mountain, NC, we just planted a row of asparagus in the shortest of the vegetable gardening raised beds. Six crowns in a neat row with richly amended soil. You can see more on that along with a video in this article. A bed that once grew annuals will now host the perennial asparagus.
ORGANIC COMPOST Organic compost is the best compost for your garden. You can make it for free in 3 easy steps.
RECIPES Herb focaccia bread - make use of those springy fresh herbs! Roasted Brussel Sprouts - always delicious! Dandelion Salad - spring greens your body loves Instant Pot Turkey Chili With White Beans - a delicious WW zero if you track that!
