Happy March, Gardener! :-)
How was your week in the garden? Or with the seedlings?
As predicted, this week reverted to colder and much wetter conditions, so we turned our attention to some of our other projects.
The sugar snap and snow peas we planted two weeks ago are starting to come up. I’ve found that a spacing of about 4 inches down a row (2 per hole) and then trellising them up as they grow is superior in yield to our old method of scattering in a plot and letting them come up willy nilly.
The old method may produce a lot of plants, but they get all tangled and then diseased from lack of airflow. Those that we raised up as individuals lived longer and produced far more peas.
Spring is definitely on. Couldn’t resist taking a photo of these cheery flowers:
