Subject: SNIPPET: Natural Remedies for Poison Ivy

Terrific Tuesday, Gardener!

Welp… Nikolai and Devani have both gotten into poison ivy.

Devani seems to have gotten it from her dog’s fur.

Nikola had become virtually immune to it from roaming our woods all these years. But he got exposed to a bunch of it recently and it was more than his resistance could take.
He’s been hauling and shoveling wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow full of woodchip mulch we got for free from a tree service outfit that have been working on the trees in our neighbor’s yards.

Coleman walked up the street and invited them to offload several dump truck loads full to a corner of our lot and they were very happy to oblige as it saved them much longer treks to and from their other dump spots.

But… turns out some of the mulch had poison ivy attached to the trees that were chipped. But of course! We see poison ivy growing on trees all the time so we should’ve thought to be careful. You know what they say: “Live and learn!”

So it seemed a good time to share an article on natural remedies for poison ivy, as well as the jewelweed article again, since it Jewelweed is one of the remedies.

This morning, Nikolai said Windex was working pretty well for his rash. :-D… if you saw the movie, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”, then you’ll understand that concept. ;-)

Please feel free to reply with your favorite poison ivy remedies.
Meanwhile… we’ll be out in the garden.

Wishing you great gardens and happy harvests!
