SUNDAY GREETINGS, GARDENER!

Here’s to an amazingly warm start to growing year 2020. (Sorry if you're in a freezing zone at present... 😲❄️).

Current temp midday here in NC zone 7a is around 68℉. WOW! Grateful!

Here’s a layout of what we’re currently growing, using our favorite garden planner app which you can read more about here.

And here is a “live shot” of one of our rows: includes mizuna, perpetual spinach, escarole, and red radicchio.

Reflecting, Dreaming, Planning and Planting

During the rainy indoor days, (it’s yet to snow here in NC’s Zone 7A), we revisit plans and ideas for the coming season. This includes how to make money from doing what we love to do, such as our aspirations to create our own retirement food and income by growing for profit.
Here are some ways to make money farming.

Winter Gardening & Plants
Finally, to close off the week, we took an inventory of the plants being grown this winter. Frankly, the list was longer than I remembered. If you’re interested in growing year round, have a look at our article on winter garden plants.

Catching Marauders and Other Favorite Tools
If you’re plagued with garden marauders, we’ve gotten some helpful footage using the trail cams we wrote about in our best garden tools list.

Did You Winterize Your Garden?
If the 2019 got away from you and you still need to winterize your garden, it happens. This may help.

Microgreens?
Lastly, we've been researching and getting ready to grow microgreens. If you're already growing them, please share any tips and recommendations via 'Reply' and we'd love to add them to our article for next week.

If you have any questions about growing them, you can also reply with that and we'll be sure to include the answers in our article.

Take Care!
Here’s hoping you're off to a great start to your January 2020, whether it’s frigid and snow laden, crazy warm, or somewhere in between.

Keep warm and optimistic for hope springs eternal.
