Greetings Gardener!

FALL LANDSCAPE PLANTS
The lovely feature photo is shared by a fellow plant lover and avid gardener, Will Ferrell, whose yard is truly a feast for the eyes and soul.

And here's a glimpse of a visit to Will's beautifully landscaped yard with treasures at every turn. You can tell how much he loves the plants and cares for them all.

Stepping into nature brings solace to the soul and especially during these trying times.

IN THE GARDEN ALL IS WELL
In the garden and natural world all is real and true, abundant and beautiful… with nature going about its business of growing through the seasons. We’re grateful for the restorative power that reminds of simpler things and how we are also a part of nature.

So while we’re grateful for the gift of the internet that connects us with you and the knowledge of the world, we’re also ever grateful for the gift of nature that helps us connect with ourselves and the glory of creation.

We find that the more time we spend in nature, the less we’re inclined to get caught up in the bad news, fear and anxiety, or the societal dramas promulgated daily.

A WORTHY WATCH
We’ve been watching the Netflix series, Anne With an E. It’s exceptionally well done and wonderful to be reminded of the common farm life and of simpler times. But also that no matter the era, there are challenges to overcome, and with each challenge faced we grow stronger and hopefully a little bit wiser. If you don't have Netflix, it's also available for rent via Amazon Prime.

VEGETABLES TO PLANT IN FALL
Depending on your grow zone you’ve either already planted your fall crop, are in process, or somewhere in between. Let us know where you are in the fall and winter gardening process.

Here’s what’s growing in our fall garden, plus a couple lists of fall vegetables, both common and unique.

MEYER LEMON TREES
Meanwhile, our Meyer Lemon Trees have been a bit neglected and aren’t thriving this season. So they had to get our attention.

All but one fruit fell off, but the little tree is giving that one fruit its all, for it is big and beautiful. So we did a little digging and found the probable cause and solutions, which we’ve added to this article.

Meyer lemons are an incredible fruit and the fruit yield in the first year should more than pay for the tree, which will then go on to produce fruit for decades.
WHAT’S COOKING?

SIMPLE, SOOTHING AND WARMING...
For your carrot harvest, you may enjoy this super simple and scrumptious carrot curry soup.

AN EASY SWEET TREAT
Also… for a treat, we indulged in this easy-to-make cheese danish yesterday. So it’s nothing from the garden (unless you add fruit preserves) but it was too good not to share.

WEATHER and WELL WISHES
All for now folks. It’s been a gorgeous sunny fall weekend here in NC… highs around 63℉. Whatever your weather, may you be in good spirits and enjoying fall planting, harvesting and planning.

And whatever your concerns or struggles amidst the turmoil of the times, we know that no storm lasts forever and we, like nature, are resilient survivors growing most when we face the light. ❤️

May your gardens flourish and your harvests be bountiful, and when you look upon your little Eden, may you see that it is good.
