HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY❣️🙏🏼💚
We're hoping you and yours are doing well!
LeAura was at a conference in Cancun last week and brought back a bug, (but hey... she got to go to the beach 👏🏼). Fortunately, it was a very mild flu, but when Coleman got it we pulled out all our favorite natural remedies, including this simple homemade decongestant.
Meanwhile, during our daily walks, we're seeing and enjoying the Queen Anne's Lace, so we dug into the research on its uses and benefits as well as the poisonous look alikes to avoid.
We'd love to hear your experience with any of it and especially if and how you're using Queen Anne's Lace. Every summer when it's blooming, it reminds Coleman of picking it with his grandmother and then bringing it home to dye it... like magic, so here's some info on how to dye flowers, which can be especially fun with little ones.
Beyond that, we've been enjoying harvesting purple majesty potatoes and making the best potato salad with those and Norland reds. See also, benefits and nutrients of purple potatoes.
We're enjoying our best potato crops to date that were planted in the galvanized metal raised beds. It's also made a difference relocating those to our future homestead property that has more sunlight than our home in the woods!
Lastly, we're closing with wild lettuce tincture and benefits, and a nightcap of mountain mint tea.
We'd love to hear if you're growing and using any of these. You can just reply to this.
