Sunday Garden Greetings!
ECHINACEA: We're currently harvesting and drying echinacea for tea and tinctures, while leaving some for the beauty it brings to the landscape and nectar for pollinators.
The echinacea bees and such must be super healthy little creatures for all the many benefits of echinacea! 🤔🐝🦋
If you're growing — or wanting to grow echinacea for wellness, these are the top 3 medicinal echinacea plants.
GARDEN LOSSES: Although we'd sprayed our crops with soap spray and also kaolin clay, something still ate ALL our parsley this past week, along with all the leaves of our cucumbers and sweet potato plants.
Before that, we were writing about ways to preserve parsley by freezing. Now we don't have any to preserve (at least not until the second growth spurt), but maybe you do!
The electric fence system didn't keep something out, so we set up the motion activated sprinklers pointed to the gate we added, which is the weakest area of the electric fence system.
When it comes to garden management, it's often requires multiple strategies, aka Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
And well... when there are losses, we choose to learn from it and focus on the gains instead. It's all life lessons from the garden!
Wishing you a beautiful day & week with lots of garden wins!
