| I hope this email finds you well and that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends!
I invite you to make an investment in NACSW to help us finish 2019 strong and enter 2020 ready to launch three exciting new initiatives to grow our association.
Initiative #1: NACSW’s first investment in 2020 will be to bring on some new key staff positions - the first new positions in many years - including half-time directors of operations and programs, and an editor in chief of the journal, as well as to significantly upgrade our website and office database capabilities. These much-needed changes in our infrastructure will help equip NACSW for a more sustainable future.
As part of this initiative, NACSW will be:
• Creating 3 new part-time staff positions. Approximate cost: $65,000. • Upgrading all of its office operations to support online access and data storage while consolidating a variety of office functions into a more streamlined and unified set of office processes. Approximate cost: $5,000.
|
| | Initiative #2: NACSW’s second initiative for 2020 will provide an opportunity for you to invest in the the lives of those who are just beginning their social work careers.
Our emerging leaders initiative seeks to find innovative ways to engage and meet the unique needs of the next generation of social work practitioners and academics by:
• Sponsoring workshop sessions and social events at our conventions and providing opportunities for emerging leaders to network with other Christians in social work at a similar point in their careers. Approximate cost: $2,000 • Funding NACSW staff to organize events and activities both at our convention and via video conferencing and social media that will connect emerging leaders with more senior NACSW members to provide support finding jobs, and pursuing career development and advancement. Approximate costs: $5,000.
|
| | Initiative #3: NACSW’s third initiative for 2020 will focus on developing a collection of teaching and training materials supporting the integration of Christian faith and social work that can be used by faculty and trainers in their various social work programs and organizations.
Resource materials developed by this initiative will include teaching modules, collections of articles and handouts, online audio and video materials, and shorter monographs and/or textbooks with accompanying instructors’ resources.
NACSW will launch this 3-5 year initiative by:
• Coordinating a summer seminar in 2020 that will design a detailed action plan outlining a process for developing the array of teaching and training resources described above. Approximate cost: $3,500 |
| | Vigorously pursuing these three initiatives will enable us to serve NACSW members more efficiently/effectively, provide more value for current/future members, and support NACSW's sustainability so we can be a vital Christian presence in the social work profession well into the future. We can’t do this without your help! Providing a monthly or one-time gift now will make an crucial difference in furthering NACSW’s ability to meet its mission in 2020 and beyond.
Thanks so much for considering an investment in NACSW to provide robust support for Christians in social work in the year(s) ahead!
Peace,
