In case you missed our note last week, FRESH's annual Seedling Sale is Saturday (5/24)! Our organic, local seedlings make growing your own vegetables, herbs or flowers easier. FRESH's seedlings will brighten diets, gardens Proceeds help fund FRESH youth agriculture, leadership programs We're just a few days out from FRESH's fifth-annual seedling sale! The annual sale runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, May 24, at the FRESH Community Garden Center (corner of Mercer and Williams streets). We'll be selling organically-grown seedlings, started by FRESH youth crew members at our farm. It's a great way to get your garden going for the summer, whether you're planting in your kitchen window or in a backyard garden. In addition to our most popular plants, tomatoes and cilantro, we'll have a good selection of herbs, veggies and flowers. Prices average $2 to $3 for a six-pack of seedlings. We accept cash, check and EBT/SNAP. Proceeds from the seedling sale go right back into the community, through our sustainable agriculture programs that train youth to be stewards of the environment and activists for a fairer, healthier food system.
