Dear Friends,
Let’s face it: healthy, fresh food is accessible in wealthy neighborhoods while unhealthy food abounds in poor neighborhoods. “Food apartheid” underscores that this is the result of decades of discriminatory planning and policy decisions. (via www.karenthefarmer.com)
One of the ways that FRESH is combatting food apartheid is through our plant sales! We will be offering many culturally relevant crops, like okra, callolou, and aji amarillo, to our community next week, giving our friends and neighbors a chance to grow healthy, delicious foods for themselves and their families. We're working hard to help people reclaim their power!
PS. You can find a complete list of the crops HERE PPS. Our basil seedlings got disrupted by mice. Buy your basil from another local farm this season. We won't have any for sale. |
