FRESH Pauses to Honor
Paul Jakobowski and Bob Burns
In the Urban Farm in July, life bursts through every crack.

The weeds, the wildflowers and the actual vegetables we are trying to grow all hungrily absorb that high summer sun and vibrate with vitality.

In this alive place, we pause to honor two men who helped FRESH New London be and become a vibrant place.

Rest in Peace, Paul Jakobowski
Rest in Peace, Robert Burns
PAUL JAKOBOWSKI
Paul was with FRESH from the beginning. As a member of Saint Francis House and Director at the Gemma Moran Food Center, his insights, advice and connections throughout SECT were invaluable. He was an early board member and wise counselor. He gave so much to this community

FRESH offers our condolences to his wife Wendy, the whole Jakobowski family, the Saint Francis House Community and all who loved and respected Paul!

Paul's life will be celebrated this weekend. With calling hours at St. James Poquetanuck Church, Preston, on Friday, July 21, 2017, starting at 5:00 p.m. There will be a Compline at 7:00 pm. A service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017, 11:00 am at the same church. Burial will follow at the Lebanon Cemetery, Waterman Road, Lebanon. His family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Sea Legs, Inc., 19 Guthrie Place, New London, CT 06320.

We are postponing our Saturday Workshop to be able to participate in this celebration of Paul's life.

Please visit www.labenskifuneralhome.com to leave an online condolence for the Jakoboski family.
BOB BURNS
Robert Burns was a force of nature. He was a farmer, a martial artist, an activist, and a sprouter. He had generously offered to do a workshop in "Sprouting for Health and Happiness" in October.

Our paths crossed at farmer's markets, the Fiddleheads Coop, artist and activist gatherings and demonstrations. We will miss his fervent love of land and growing things.

We offer our condolences to the Burns family. We hope for a speedy recovery for his son, who was injured in the accident that killed Robert Burns. We will to honor Robert by learning about sprouting, amplifying his raging against GMOs and walking gently on the earth.
