Over the years on Fiverr, I’ve answered thousands of questions about selling books. I always aim to answer honestly—no hype, no false hopes, just straightforward advice based on what I’ve seen work (and sometimes what hasn’t).
I'll admit to sometimes being wrong—we all make mistakes. But more often than not, I’ve been able to help authors start marketing their books the right way.
If you want to see my hair stand on end, just mention one of those self-proclaimed “gurus” who promise you can publish dozens of AI-generated books and make a fortune.
Take the infamous AI coloring book scam. According to these so-called experts, you just let AI churn out dozens of coloring books, plop them on Amazon, and voilà—you're rolling in cash.
What they conveniently forget to tell you? YOU actually have to market those books. No, books don’t magically sell themselves. YOU need reviews. YOU need a strategy to get those books in front of buyers.
And that’s where I come in.
I’m passionate about helping authors learn how to market their books. As someone who’s studied marketing for over 40 years, I know there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. Marketing evolves constantly, and so do the rules of self-publishing.
Learning to market your books isn’t something you master in a week—it’s a lifelong journey. But the good news? It’s totally doable.
I work with authors who earn tens of thousands of dollars a month selling their books. Every one of them started with step one. They patiently built an author platform—often including a website, newsletter, social media (usually 3–8 different accounts), AND they consistently add to their Amazon sales library.
In addition to writing regularly, successful authors find ways to market consistently. And yes, there are tools and strategies to get some of it running on semi-automatic—letting technology lighten the load.
So why am I going on about this?
Because there are dozens of ways YOU can sell your books.
In 2025, I’ll be adding even more—information that YOU want and need.
But I need your help.
Send me your questions!
If you have one, two, or even three specific questions you’d like answered, email me.
Here’s the catch (because there’s always a catch):
Please don’t ask, “How can I sell more books?”—because that’s a massive question. My answer would be to send you a list of my 20 favorite books on marketing strategies.
Instead, ask me questions I can answer in a blog post or two, such as:
- What is A+ Content, and do I need it?
- How can I start getting subscribers to my email list?
- What are the easiest social media platforms that take the least time?
- What’s the fastest, easiest, and cheapest way to set up a blog?
- How do I create an email newsletter without breaking the bank?
If one of these questions catches your interest, let me know which one you’d like answered first. Then, feel free to add your own questions to the list!
Let’s tackle this together and help you sell more books!
Warm regards,
Melanie
