July's Black Friday Event is About To Start

________________________________________________

Black Friday is one of the biggest sales day on Amazon with some products selling out (thousands of units) within MINUTES.

Amazon's Prime Days Event is even bigger simply because they have very little competition.  More companies are getting the idea and yes, there are now more choices from both retailers and on-line companies.

This year the Prime Days are   JULY 12th and 13th.

You MUST have a Prime Membership.

Don't let anyone else know, but you could get the membership now and unsubscribe in August.   Hmmmm.   This link will get you a 30-day free trial membership

So here's my story ... feel free to skip it unless you are curious.  I have been a PRIME member for over four years. BUT until last year I just thought it was a lot of hype and I ignored it.

Then last June I found an article about Prime and it converted me.  The savings can be spectacular.

So I was ready to go  ... and then PRIME DAYS in Canada was cancelled  due to COVID.  Hmmmm so they didn't care about their employees in the US and the UK?   Sheesh.  Just when I was revved up to go.

Decided NOT to let that stop me.  I used to live in Vancouver and had everything shipped to a US address and just popped over the border to pick it up.  So I decided to schedule a trip to Vancouver and the border 2 weeks after PRIME 2021 was over  (time for shipping delays etc).
Worked PERFECTLY.

And I am now a PRIME DAYS  convert for ONE reason.  I saved HUNDREDS of $$ on products I buy regularly.  I stocked up for a year of my diabetic sugars, and carb-free goodies. I purchased a few of the electronics and kitchen goodies on my wish list.  Because I was traveling across the border I was fairly conservative.

So this year watch out!  I've been keeping track of the things I purchase on a regular basis and then tracking those items on Amazon.

For example one of my staples is True Citrus Lemon and Lime concentrates.  The price point for these two "small" products varies from $20 to $44 (more about this in a minute).  I am diligent in getting it at the lowest price I can.  You can believe that I will be checking the price of these two products every day before and on PRIME and  IF the price is right, I'll be stocking up enough to last a year or more.

Here is an important observation about Amazon's price variations.  EVERY store does this your local grocery and drug stores ... so of course Amazon does this too.  Why wouldn't they try to sell it at $44 instead of $20 IF you are willing to buy it at that price?

I USED to create a shopping cart and over the period of two weeks or so, would check on things I needed and wanted and add them to the cart.  I "finally" noticed that invariably after 2 - 3 days of sitting in the cart I would get a notification telling me the price had increased.  Not once did I get a notice of a price decrease.

So NO MORE setting up a shopping cart ahead of time.  Now I only open a cart when I intend to BUY.  I keep track of the things I need and want in a note pad, along with the last price I found it at.  Then when I see a good price I BUY.  Why not ... shipping is one to two days and is FREE  when you have a PRIME membership.

For PRIME DAYS I focus on food (not the BEST deals) and kitchen appliances and electronics.  As far as I can figure out the BEST deals are on the electronics and household items.  BUT everything is up for grabs.  YOU just need to know what you want and KNOW your prices.  Take a quick trip to Walmart and check!   AND this year Walmart is one of the retailers now competing against Amazon's PRIME deals ... so be sure to see what their deals are too.

My BIG purchase this year will be three Amazon Kindlefire Tablets for a few upcoming birthdays.  A product that normally sells from  $100+ (Canadian) may drop to $50 or less.  I'm IN!  I have two Kindlefires and LOVE them.

I'm also looking for a set of LED grow lights for my indoor veggie grow op.  My plan is to grow radishes, lettuce, scallions and other quick grow vegetables all winter ... and then my usual early spring planting of tomatoes and eggplant seedlings.

The two "diabetic" sugars (carb zero) I got bargains on last year are:

Stevia white powder concentrate:     (two bags lasted almost a year)

Erythritol: I got five bags last year and will get more this year depending on the price. I use a lot of this in ultra low-carb cooking and baking.

I actually love PRIME ... in addition to the fast and free shipping, a PRIME MEMBERSHIP supplies you with loads of free books reads, free movies and more ... the service MORE than pays for itself  and will from my end get a lot of  use on July 12 and 13th.

If you don't have a PRIME MEMBERSHIP already, get a free month of Prime here:  https://amzn.to/3uBcS4O

Spend the next two days checking prices and seeing what kinds of bargains you can take advantage of ... and then on July 12th place your order.

You need to have your "must have" list ready and order ASAP in order to avoid "out of stock" messages.  Then for the rest of the sale just browse around and see if any other good deals are appealing.

Have fun shopping!
Melanie
