A New Way To Get Reviews and Sales At The Same Time
________________________________________________
A few of you already know that I've been testing out a new ARC service, and so far, I absolutely LOVE it.
The name of the new service is Revjus.com (pronounced reviews).
As an author you want to get reviews for YOUR books.
With the Revjus ARC service your first step is to earn some points by purchasing, reading and reviewing fellow members books.
Earn Points for Reviews: You earn points by purchasing and reading a fellow author's book. The points you earn depend on the book's price, word count, and your estimated reading and review time.
For example, one of the books I reviewed was priced at $6.99 USD on Amazon. The word count was over150,000. I figured I could read and write a review within a week.
I ended up earning 3000 points. Since I haven't yet uploaded one of my books I am only guessing, but from the feedback of a few helpers 3000 is enough points for ME to get a review of a book under $6 USD and less than 100,000 words.
When you review a book ... you must write a review of 5 or more sentences that show you have actually read the book.
You can give the book any rating you feel it deserves.
IF you want to give the book a 1-star rating, you can contact the Revjus team and let them know, so they can notify the author. That sounds like a nice courtesy to me, and as an author I would very much appreciate being informed without actually having a 1-star review show up.
What happens when YOUR book is reviewed:
When someone reviews YOUR book, this is what you get:
A Verified Purchase Review: I order to review your book, it must be purchased from one of the author's preferred vendors. The fact that you purchase the book registers it as a verified purchase on Amazon.
Since your book was purchased you will get a royalty payment.
Reviewers must write a good quality review of at least five sentences, demonstrating they have actually read the book. No more stupid one sentence reviews!
BOTTOM LINE: You get paid for the sale of a book AND you get a review.
Because the book was paid for, you won't be getting any of those annoying "I got this book for free yadda yadda yadda statements inside your review.
One of the things I like about Revjus is that you can submit books of ANY age. Getting new reviews is a great way to help revive your older books.
Content Restrictions: While Revjus accepts most children's books, they do not accept coloring books, journals, or other low-content books.
If you need a constant source of reviews, I highly encourage you to join Revjus as soon as possible. They will SOON be transitioning out of their beta testing phase into their paid plans. If you join now, you will be grandfathered in and offered a special introductory price. This is a significant discount!
If you plan on getting more reviews for your existing books or publishing new books within the next year, you should take advantage of this offer.
Right now, when you sign up for free, you will receive 5,000 points just for joining. These 5,000 points will likely get you at least one free review, depending on the size and price of your book.
That’s all for now. Once I have more detailed numbers from my experiences and feedback from a few customers who are also testing the service, I will share them with you.
P.S. If you’ve already joined because of my recommendation, I’d love to hear from you! Just email me, and I’ll get back to you.
Happy reading and reviewing!
** Just to be fully transparent, the links above are affiliate links. IF you decide to purchase the service, I will receive a small commission. This does NOT affect the price you pay in any way.
