Happy Friday!
This week I attended a Money Mindset Masterclass and one of the things we worked on was reverse engineering our yearly monetary goals and breaking down the process into actionable steps. This process can be applied to any type of goal, so I wanted to make sure I shared it with you!
Reverse-engineering means that you start with the end goal in mind.
So, here's what I want you to do:
1. Write down your goal - for example, making 6 figures in a year.
2. Break down what that needs to look like into smaller steps - using our example what you currently have for income, how much more you need to make, and how you will make up the difference.
3. You then break those bigger steps down into even smaller steps - if your goal is to make revenue by starting your own business, break down what that would look like, what steps you will take to make that happen.
4. Pick one small step that you can implement today - if it's overwhelming (starting a business) break it down even farther. Start by writing a list of what it is you’re looking for in a business. The next step would be to write an outline and research what you are looking for. Then you can move forward from there.
Sometimes what keeps us from moving forward with our goals is thinking of the big picture and letting it overwhelm us. Use this process to reverse engineer your goal and find that first small step you can take. From there keep taking steps and remember to CELEBRATE along the way!
