OVK Bach Festival 2019

The OVK-Bach Melharmony Festival is a celebration of the creations of two brilliant classical composers - Oottukkadu Venkata Kavi (OVK) (1700 -1765?) who enriched the world of melody, and Bach (1685 -1750) who enriched the world of harmony. This festival offers perspectives of developments of melody and harmony in this period via Melharmony.
Melharmony (www.melharmonymusic.com) is an award-winning concept proposed by musician-composer Chitravina N Ravikiran that creates “harmony but with an emphasis on melodic rules.”
This festival aims to spread awareness, appreciation, and understanding of the two contrasting musical genres and the creative genius of two great composers.
Highlights of the Festival:

2. Featured Performance Slots - featuring young aspiring artistes who will share the stage with luminaries.
3. Saptaratna Goshti Ganam - A group ensemble presentation of 7 compositions of Oottukkadu Venkata Kavi led by celebrity musicians.
4. Individual performance slots - where participants can perform one composition of OVK and/or Bach for a duration 5-7 minutes.
