“Moving from Impossible to Possible"
Hello, Friend!
“So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.” ~ Christopher Reeve, actor, producer, director, and writer; best known for his wrole as Superman
I came across this powerful true story and wanted to share it with you...
George Danzig was a grad student in mathematics at a time when jobs were very, very difficult to get in the United States.
His math professor Jerzy Neyman, who was the head of the mathematics department, said to the grad students that whoever got the best grade on the final had the opportunity to be hired as his research assistant for the next year.
That job was a plum job. Everybody wanted the job. George said that he studied very hard and was up until the middle of the night one night, overslept and was late for class the next day. George arrived late for one of Jerzy Neyman's classes. On the blackboard there were two problems that George assumed had been assigned for homework. He copied them down. A few days later he apologized to Neyman for taking so long to do the homework saying, "the problems seemed to be a little harder than usual". George asked Neyman if he still wanted it.
Neyman told George to throw it on his desk. George says he did so reluctantly because Neyman's desk was covered with such a heap of papers that he feared his homework would be lost forever.
"About six weeks later, on a Sunday morning at about 8:00 AM, [my wife] Anne and I were awakened by someone banging on our front door. It was Neyman. He rushed in with papers in hand, all excited: “I’ve just written an introduction to one of your papers. Read it so I can send it out right away for publication. For a minute I had no idea what he was talking about. To make a long story short, the problems on the blackboard that I had solved thinking they were homework were in fact two famous unsolved problems in statistics. That was the first inkling I had that there was anything special about them."
George Dantzig recounted that if he had heard ahead of time that no one has been able to solve those problems, he would have looked at those problems differently. And the way he would have looked at those problems, would have been so different, that he would not have made himself available to access the solution that was within him.
It may be hard to believe Friend, but that same access is within every one of us.
Now I don't know what problem or challenge you are facing right now. But I know this about you. I know that you are, a child of the Infinite; of the Most High…and you are in the process of "becoming". And you have access to whatever you need to be everything you want to BE, to give everything you want to GIVE…to make the difference you are here to MAKE....and, to BUILD YOUR DREAM LIFE!
Friend, know that there is always a solution available for any problem or challenge you may be facing.
Your job is to stay open to that possibility.
I believe in You!
PS George Dantzig did land a plum job at the University. In fact he became the Operations Research and Computer Science Professor and received the National Medal of Science in 1976! This is YOUR Life Friend! ~ Together, Let's Make It A GREAT One! Your Partner in Believing,
