"HONORING and CELEBRATING MOTHERS on MOTHER'S DAY!"
Hello Friend!
Today is Mother's Day - a day to give pause and to give thanks and recognition and appreciation to all the Moms that have cared for and nurtured humans and pets alike; to thank all the Moms for all their hard work, self-sacrifice, love and devotion!
Take time this weekend to share a special moment with all the Mothers in your life.
Today is also a day to give pause and to give thanks and recognition and appreciation to the one who gave us life. The one who fed us, changed us, dressed us, cared for us, taught us, took care of our hurts both physical and emotional. The one that you could call any time of day or night and always receive a warm reception! My mother would always say, "if you can't afford the call, Call Collect and I will accept." She said that to me even when she was 85 years old AND long after I was an independent adult and had been on my own for over 45 years.
A mother is a mother forever! No matter how old our children get, we are still their mother. My son is a grown man with children of his own. But, he will always be my baby boy!
I lost my MOM on Mother's day May 12, 2013. All but one of her 6 children were by her side during the last few days she was with us. My mother was an incredible woman! Some of the last words she uttered were to uplift and encourage a care aide that was assisting her. I still recall the care aide coming into the room and my mom, wracked with pain throughout her body, said to the woman "don't you look beautiful. You look like you are ready for a beauty pageant." Even at her absolute lowest in terms of her physical well being, on the very last day of her life, she was uplifting and encouraging others because that is who she was. She was an encourager, a dreamer, a visionary who always saw great light filled possibilities in others and in situations where other people could not see them. She was a courageous, tireless, outspoken advocate for those with no voice! I made a post on FaceBook the other day and so I am sharing it here with you below. It is a picture with me and my mom and I hope it inspires you to have a conversation with yourself and your mom. You might ask yourself what three lessons did you learn from you mom that had a huge impact on your life?
My encouragement to you today, if your mother is still alive, is to have a conversation with her and ask her questions that you want to ask her NOW. Say the things that you want to say to to your mother NOW! I am so happy and grateful that I was able to do that with my mother! Don't miss out on the opportunity to say the things you want to say to her and to find out as much as you can about her and the life she lived and her experiences and who she really is. You will be glad that you did. Ask yourself this, Who is your Mom? What does she stand for and What 3 lessons did you learn from her?

| The above photo is a picture of Me and my MOM at my very first Trade show when I started my very first business in 1983 - SUCCESS UNLIMITED TRAINING INSTITUTE. My mother was a dreamer and she taught me to dream! And even though I was TERRIFIED, I found the Courage to go for my dream (I resigned from my secure job with the government with excellent pay and benefits and pension to go for my DREAM). And I have gone for my dreams again and again SINCE THEN, because my MOM taught me to go for gold and to never, ever give up!! I started Success Unlimited at a time when few women were starting businesses and the economy was in a real slump. And I created it from scratch, from an idea in my mind - a VISION of helping people to realize their dreams and be all that they are capable of becoming. I opened the doors of 3 locations all during the same week in January of 1983 - one in Vancouver, BC, one in Coquitlam, BC, and the largest campus in Burnaby, BC. I purchased all the equipment, furniture, supplies, supervised the leasehold improvements at all locations and hired and trained all of the 12 employees. It was the most exhilarating and exciting time of my life and for me, it is the only way to live! I decided long ago that I was not running with the herd and that I was not going to tiptoe through life trying to make it safely to death.
Within one year, with the help of my awesome staff, SUCCESS UNLIMITED TRAINING INSTITUTE passed a gruelling, complex and lenghty process by both the federal and provincial government to be approved as a Private Registered Training Institute which then made it possible for our Students to be eligible for Student Loans and government funding. That was quite the accomplishment as it required a tremendous amount of work and navigating both federal and provincial red tape and policies. But, I had great people working with me and God just kept giving me the ideas and the connections and whatever it was that was required. I kept a notebook with me at all times and even had one on my nightstand because I would wake in the middle of the night with an idea. I was on FIRE in terms of my PASSION and PURPOSE, my DREAM, my VISION!
SUCCESS UNLIMITED was on the leading edge of technology teaching computer programs that were all new. Heck, computers were new! SUTI's computer lab had 20 brand new PC's and we were training people on all the latest software, including programming. BUT we were also teaching the laws of Success. The very laws that I have been studying since 1979. The INVISIBLE SIDE OF SUCCESS! We were on the leading edge doing this because no other school was offering that kind of human development programming in their curriculum. And SUCCESS UNLIMITED was on the leading edge of technology for that time. I also introduced continuous enrollment and at that time no one had done that. GOD'S CURRENCY IS IDEAS and the ideas just kept coming at lightning speed because I WAS ADVANCING CONFIDENTLY IN THE DIRECTION OF MY DREAM!! Most of the time I did not know the HOW, but I knew the WHAT and I knew what I would LOVE!
All of this was possible because of what my MOM taught me, not just with her words but by her example! She was a trail blazer and so I became a trail blazer. She danced to the beat of her own drum and so do I. She was answering the call to be all that she could be and ALL she was meant to be. And she did that every day of her life. She gave her all every day!! Thank you MOM!! for all that you are!! If not for you and the incredible DREAMBUILDER Programs that I now share with the world, I would still be in my wheelchair! I LOVE YOU AND I MISS YOU MOM!!"
