Dear Friends,
It happened again.
I was working on a quilt the other day—feeling pretty proud of myself, actually. The fabric was lining up perfectly, my stitching was straight, and the front looked like a masterpiece. Then I flipped it over.
Friends… it was bad. I’m talking bird’s nest bad. A tangled mess of bobbin thread that looked like it could house an entire family of sparrows. I just stood there, staring at it, wondering how my machine could betray me like that. 😩
After the initial wave of despair (and a few choice words), I took a deep breath and started troubleshooting. Turns out, my top thread wasn’t seated quite right between the tension disks. A two-second fix—after 30 minutes of unraveling that disaster. Oh, the joys of quilting!
If you’ve ever had a “tension disaster” of your own, you’re not alone. Bobbin issues, tension headaches, and mysterious thread nests are practically a rite of passage for quilters. The good news is, it’s fixable. And honestly, it makes the final quilt that much more satisfying.
So, if your quilting machine is acting up, or you’re just in need of some encouragement, why not stop by the shop this week? We’ve got some new fabrics in, and if you need help with tension issues (or just need to vent about them), we’re here for you.
After all, quilting is about more than perfect stitches—it’s about the stories we create along the way (even the messy ones).
Happy stitching (and may disks always be flossed),
Donna
P.S. We’ve got classes, fabric, friendly faces, and the kind of encouragement that comes with zero judgment (even if you call in and need a reminder to floss.)
