Dear Friends,
Often in the course of life, things go a bit off course. Friday, James and I were scheduled to install an Infinity longarm. The machine is a new purchase by our good friend and customer, Carol, who lives in Atlanta, TX. Atlanta is about two hours east from here and 25 miles south of Texarkana.
The machine was to be delivered to her house this past Tuesday. It didn’t arrive. With Carol having her own schedule relative to other matters, she became concerned about the machine not getting there as promised. Both she and Donna got on the phone with HandiQuilter to find out where the machine could be. Yes, it had been shipped!
Apparently it did arrive on Tuesday morning, but in Atlanta, Georgia! OOPS!
More discussion and phone calls finally confirmed it would come back and be at Carol’s house tomorrow, Monday, in the proper city, Atlanta, Texas. Carol . . . nice a person as she is . . . didn’t get her feathers ruffled in the least, nor did she display any tendencies to get upset or cuss anyone out, or get cross with them. She is a very sweet, solid person, taking it all in stride and with good nature. Can’t help but wonder if her good nature would have prevailed had she lived in Paris, Texas or Athens, Texas, and it got miss-shipped. Knowing her, I don’t think she would have been upset with that either, at least very much, and would have found I funny, provided HandiQuilter retrieved it as quickly..
James and I will have to reschedule the set up. After the two-hour drive, set-ups generally take about five hours, and then a two-hour drive back, but we’ll get to it soon as we can do it. Part of the delay, however, is that Donna and I left for St. Louis yesterday morning, 4:00 am. Have to attend a required Baby Lock conference. It’s about a 10-hour drive, and we had to leave that early to make it in time for registration. Thankfully, our local McDonald’s is now open 24 hours, so we were able to stop and get a chicken biscuit on the way out! Sandy, our doorbell poodle is with us, and is welcome where we’re staying.
Back in the shop, tomorrow, we’re having a bolster pillow class using sergers. Kim will be teaching it. It’s not to late to get in if you’ll click below and get yourself registered. Should be lots of fun and you’ll go home with a decorative and useful completed project.
