Subject: How to Beat the Heat and Save Your Electricity

June 21, 2023

Dear Friends,

Our Fox Country Quilts sign blew down. One of the recent storms got it. What we have is a vinyl sign held in place between two 8-foot T-Posts. The thing has been whipping back and forth in the wind since we put it up, but remained anchored with rope ties until just the other day.

So being the brave person that I am, I went out a couple days ago to pound the T-Posts deeper into the ground and add two more posts to attach to the additional grommets in the center of the sign, both top and bottom. Sometimes being brave is stupid. It was a dumb move. With a heat index well over 100, I didn’t even complete getting one of posts pounded down to the height I wanted. Felt like passing out, so came inside where the temperature is kept nice and cool at all times. Just sat for about an hour recovering, and then found something else to do. An interior activity.

Now here is how my experience and lesson learned can benefit you. I learned that Fox Country Quilts is the place to be during this heat. So for next several days, for as long as the need is there, we are offering free admission to our shop. You will need to look like you’re shopping during at least part of your visit, but feel free to come in, look around, use our electricity for running air conditioners, and gather supplies for your next quilting project. A deal like this is hard to beat!
