Subject: Hang ’em High!

July 2, 2023

Dear Friends,

Our shop walls are no longer so bare.  Display quilts are back in place on our shop walls thanks to Penny Hopper’s husband.  James came in this past Wednesday, risking life and limb by climbing the 10-foot ladder several times to finish installing our quilt-hanging system.  Back up the ladder, and he got six of our quits hanging up on display.  I helped.  I handed things up to him and fell over only once.  Remind me not to be looking up when I’m on the ground and backing up.  Bruising was minimal, and I’m delighted not to have to do all the ladder work myself.

Reasons for hanging quilts:

1.  They totally change the atmosphere of the quilt shop.

2.  They show a small part of the creative art of quilting.  Quilting is the world’s most useful art. 3.  The quilts are useful for showing non-quilting husbands what quilting is about, perhaps enticing them not to sit out in their trucks while their wives are shopping.

4.  Sometimes quilts are hung to show you a finished quilt from quilt kits we are selling.

5.  Some quilts are hung to give James exercise.

6.  Hung high up on the wall, they tend not to collect dust bunnies.

The quilts definitely give justification for us having built our shop barndominium style, ensuring the shop would have this nice tall quilt display wall.  It also ensured the shop could have an extra-big design wall for quilters to use.

If you haven’t visited our shop lately, you need to do so soon.  Lots of fabric, lots of notions, rulers, supplies . . . about anything a quilter could want.  Plus you won’t find better deals anywhere on Baby Lock sewing machines or longarm quilting machines, with lots of extra unique benefits for purchasing a longarm machine from Fox Country Quilts.  Love to see you here.
