May is here and with that comes some great quilting classes to get ready for some Summer fun.

Longarm Rental Certification Class

Monday, May 1

Are you tired of paying to have someone else quilt your quilt tops for you? Come rent our machines! In this class, we will cover: loading a quilt, basting and using Pro-Stitcher to quilt edge-to-edge. You can do it! This is an all-day class.

Getting Started with Pro-Stitcher

Thursday, May 4

Are you interested in Pro-Stitcher and want to see if it is worth the money? Have you made the purchase and need to learn how to use Pro-Stitcher? Would you like a refresher and to see what the latest release version can do? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this class is for you!

In this LECTURE/HANDS-ON class, Dr. Donna Smith will take you through Pro-Stitcher step-by-step so that you can begin quilting with confidence. Don't have access to Pro-Stitcher? You can still take this class! Contact Donna at info@foxcountryquilts.com

Free-Hand Quilting: Background Fills

Learn a variety of background filler designs to enhance your next quilting project! In this class, we will take a look at several background fills and discuss how they might enhance a quilt. and then practice the designs on paper so we have examples for practicing at home on our quilting machines.

Students must already know the basics of free-motion machine quilting. Basic instruction is not given in this workshop.

Make a Bag

Make a Bag Club is an exciting and easy way to complete a customized bag! Featuring bags that have been made by Jo Ella Bryant, each month she will provide tips and tricks to help you learn the art of bag making. Choose from several options, get started making, finish in class or at home ... or bring your project back again the next month. It's a sew-in day, but much better because you have help and friends to sew with!

HQ Virtual Class: Pro-Stitcher Designer Basics

Pro-Stitcher Designer is full featured, vector-based drawing software gives you the ability to quickly design, edit, customize, export and import any quilting motif you can imagine. This class will start with a basic overview of the easy-to-use features. New users will be creating their own digital designs for their next quilting project by the end of this class!

Watermelon Placemat - Intro to Judy Niemeyer Quiltworx Paper Piecing 2-Day Workshop

Tuesday-Wednesday, May 30-31

Do Judy Niemeyer quilts leave you inspired and intimidated at the same time? In this workshop, we’ll take away the intimidation factor with a step-by-step approach to one of Judy’s beginner friendly patterns in a laid-back, stress-free environment. We’ll start by talking about how to read a Quiltworx pattern. Learn to cut and organize your papers and fabric to make paper piecing a breeze. Assemble the units with Judy’s easy curved-piecing. Finally, use Judy’s method of machine appliqué and watch the stitches almost disappear into the fabric. You’ll have lots of practice in basic paper piecing techniques and be well on your way to completing a set of six placemats - size 18" x 13".

We also have all of Handi Quilter's current longarm machines on our floor waiting for you to test drive! We finance through Synchrony and might be able to get you 0% financing when you get approved!
