We’re thrilled to announce an incredible lineup of new and exciting opportunities coming to our Northeast Texas Education Center at Fox Country Quilts! Whether you’re looking to sharpen your skills, explore new hobbies, or connect with fellow creatives, we have something just for you.

Here’s what’s coming in January:

Sit & Sew with us every 1st Saturday in 2025! Whether you are part of our Block of the Month programs or just want some sew time, you are welcome to join us!

2025 BOM Sit and Sew Day

Saturday, January 4

This is a companion Sit and Sew session for the Block of the Month at Fox Country Quilts. Join us in the classroom as we work through each month's block.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a class and no formal instruction is provided in these sessions. However, as always Fox Country Education Staff are available to assist with tips and tricks.

It’s all open sew where you can work on any Quiltworx project you like. No specific teaching but Quiltworx Certified Instructor, Tina Lueders, will be available to help you with your project.

Vintage Rose - Technique of the Month

Friday, January 10

The Vintage Rose Technique of the Month (TOM) includes many of Judy's techniques for foundation paper piecing. You will learn to properly prepare and organize your foundation papers, cutting your fabric, stacking, chain piecing, smart corners, curved piecing, floating points and the use of Transition and Registration Points (TRPs).

Learn Embroidery and Serger Techniques in our new Project of the Month Classes! One day each month will feature a project that can be crafted together or stand alone on your embroidery machine or serger! The best thing about these monthly project classes? Let's Hoop It!

Whether you’ve never touched a needle or have been stitching up a storm for years, this class is for you. We’ll take it step-by-step, laugh through the tricky bits, and by the end of the class, you’ll leave with a completed project (and probably a bunch of new friends). Don’t worry about supplies, I’ve got you covered with everything you’ll need, including fabric, thread, and the design of the month. You just bring yourself and a good attitude (or caffeine, whichever works!).

Sew Serge It!

Got a serger but not quite sure what to do with it? Or maybe you’ve been eyeing those perfectly finished seams and wondering, "How do they do that?" Well, you're in luck! Our monthly Serger Class is here to turn those serger fears into sewing victories, one project at a time.

What’s great? You don’t need to bring anything but yourself and maybe a cup of coffee. We’ve got machines for you to borrow if you don’t have one, and all supplies are provided. You’ll leave with a finished project, some new skills, and possibly an addiction to serging. Let’s stitch, laugh, and learn together—sign up today and make that serger your new best friend!

Unlock the magic of your Baby Lock machine with our IQ Designer Technique of the Month class! Each month, we’ll dive into a new feature of IQ Designer, turning those “I wonder how…” moments into “Wow, I can do that!”

Longarm Rental Certification Class

Saturday, January 18

Are you passionate about quilting but find yourself limited by the size and capabilities of your home sewing machine? Or maybe you’re dreaming of finishing your quilts with professional-quality designs but aren’t ready to invest in a longarm machine of your own? If so, longarm rental might be the perfect solution for you!

Before you start using a rented longarm machine, you’ll need to attend our longarm rental certification class to familiarize you with the equipment.

Quilted Jackets are the rage in the quilting, sewing, and fashion industry. This is your opportunity to have a bit of fun and make a jacket to go with those cute quilted sneakers!

Quilted Jacket Workshop

Monday - Wednesday, January 20 - 22

In this workshop, you will learn how to read the pattern and additional options, review the pattern construction tips and tricks and make your selection of options. Unlike our other classes, in this class you will be selecting your fabrics during class if you purchase a kit. Collaboration with the Teacher on making adjustments are allowed. You will learn about quilting garments in addition to garment construction. Although you do not need to be proficient in each skill area, you should be proficient in one of them (quilting or garment construction) in order to keep up with the class overall.

Achromatic Wedding Star Quilt Retreat

Thursday - Sunday, January 30 - February 2

Join us for a 3-day retreat and learn to make the Wedding Ring Quilt the Quiltworx way. This pattern is beginner friendly, especially with guidance from the wonderful Tina Wray Lueders!

The Achromatic Wedding Star Quilt by Quiltworx is a 4 by 4 wedding ring design with a unique twist of adding a star between the rings. This design has become a classic in the quilting industry and is one that continues to sell more each year than it did the year before. Finished size is 54" x 54".
