Dear Friends,
Morning coffee. Every morning (except Sunday . . . sleeping in day), Donna and I get up at 6:30 and go to the couch. We have a coffee maker that at 6:20 grinds the coffee beans, and the coffee is ready for us when we get up. Neither one of us is functional at that time. I’m the one who wanders out to the kitchen, pours a bit of creamate into Donna’s cup, and then pours the coffee into both our cups. Back to the couch where we stay through two cups of coffee each, then time to make breakfast.
We have a wonderful coffee brand we use. Caribou Coffee. Whole bean, medium roast, and it’s a really good tasting coffee. I like it better than any of the Keurig coffees I’ve ever tasted, including the ones stored in the drawer beneath our own Keurig. Caribou Coffee comes from the ‘Caribou Coffee Company, Inc.” in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
A 40oz bag costs $35.40. Don’t know if that’s expensive or inexpensive coffee, but it’s worth the price, whatever. Better than anything I see at the store (Walmart or Brookshires), and it’s sometimes hard to get any whole-bean coffee at the stores anyway.
Not sure how long a bag lasts us. Maybe three weeks, something like that. Told Donna a while back it was time to start thinking about ordering more coffee. When it looked like it wouldn’t last another week, I told her again, you really need to order us some new coffee now. Then by two days ago, I poured the last of the bag into the coffee maker, and told Donna we’re now critically low on coffee. Maybe only one day left. I asked if she had ordered it already.
Her response was, “No, you didn’t tell me.”
“I did too, told you three times now.”
She shook her head no, so I knew we were out and it would be a while before any came in.
Same day shortly after that, Donna sent the order. Then she went down to the mail box and waited. I didn’t know what she was doing, and I didn’t ask. However, later in the day, a box appeared in the kitchen. I opened it. And there was a brand new 40oz bag of Caribou Blend coffee.
No purple road runners were involved.
Call to action for this e-mail. Please feel free to come by our place for a good cup of Keurig coffee. We have Snickers creamer to sweeten it up.
