Many Indigenous cultures have a rich tradition of storytelling and teachings passed down through generations. By sharing these stories and teachings with students, we can provide a deeper understanding of Indigenous cultures and ways of understanding the world.
Invite Indigenous guest speakers. Inviting Indigenous community members to speak in the classroom can provide students with valuable insights and perspectives, and help to build connections between the classroom and the community.
Use land-based learning. Many Indigenous cultures have a deep connection to the land, and incorporating land-based learning activities can provide students with a deeper understanding of Indigenous perspectives on the environment.
Use Indigenous languages. Incorporating Indigenous languages in the classroom can help to preserve and promote Indigenous cultures, and also provides students with valuable language learning opportunities.
