FOMR has had a great 2018!
Thank you to our many volunteers who have made this year such a success.
In 2018, Friends of the Middle River:
~ Cleaned 18 miles of River and streams with 70+ volunteers ~ Completed our 8th year of Benthic Monitoring and began our 4th year of E. coli monitoring ~ Led three Paddle America Club float trips on Middle River ~ Provided education at Earth Day Staunton and Valley Conservation Council's Kites & Critters ~ Welcomed 100+ guests to our Friends Fest Barbecue Picnic at the Valley Smokehouse ~ Held our 6th Annual Kayak Raffle |

New developments in 2018 included:
~ Launching FOMR's River Access Program ~ Funding $4,000 to the Headwaters Soil and Water Conservation District's Soils Trailer Education Project ~ Piloting our new SaltWatch Monitoring program ~ Leading our first ever moonlight float trip ~
Awarding $1,000 to the Fort Defiance High School Ecology Club for its
winning film in FOMR's Film Contest - "A Healthy Middle River - Why
Should We Care?" ~ Welcoming FOMR's new Watershed Administrator - Kate Guenther and new Board Chairman - Dave Mangun |

2019, FOMR plans to develop a more comprehensive River Cleanup, recruit
new Board Members, and add new E. coli Monitoring sites. |
