In Gabon, the difficulty of coexistence between humans and elephants is extremely acute. With 95,000 elephants spread over 90% of the country, interaction between humans and elephants is becoming increasingly difficult. It is important to define a new conservation policy, which implies new land-use planning. These decisions will have to be taken using a holistic approach that integrates the social and biological sciences.
