...as an all-volunteer operation, there would BE no operation, without our volunteers!
And so, as the holiday season begins with Thanksgiving, we especially want to say "thanks" to all of you for all that you have done.
We also want to tell you about a volunteer who has done all of the above, a volunteer for whom FFGW will be forever thankful.
There was never any question that Margaret Wisniewski loved cats, the proof being her travels across the country from California to Pennsylvania to New Hampshire to Virginia, all with her precious cats in tow. Margaret was a foster, a Leesburg volunteer, an adoption counselor, and someone FFGW could always count upon when there was a need. Tragically, Margaret recently passed away from cancer, and her absence is felt deeply. However, Margaret's legacy lives on through the love of animals that she imbued to her children Kyle and Shannon, just toddlers sitting on the bench in the Leesburg adoption center when Margaret received her training. Shannon grew up to be a vet tech and passed that love of kitties on to her own daughter Addison, pictured below. |
