| | Thank You!
Thank you for opening your hearts to new furry family members, for opening your homes to so many foster cats and kittens, and for opening your wallets to the support that has made it all possible! |
| This year has been a difficult one for many. Animals still need us, surrenders are more frequent than ever, and 2020 saw the unprecedented situation of shelters around the country closing for Covid precautions. One silver lining in all of this? YOU!
Quarantine led to a record breaking number of new fosters and adoptions. In 2020, the Feline Foundation has been able to rescue and adopt out 35% more cats than in any other year in our history!
Because of caring people like you, the Feline Foundation has rescued and rehomed more than 400 cats and kittens in just over 11 months, thanks to a tireless all-volunteer crew of transporters, fosters, coordinators, and administrators. You might see a furry face you recognize above!
We are incredibly thankful for our village. Beyond the few cats who temporarily stay at PetSmart Leesburg and Just Cats Clinic Reston, we have no shelter or other facility–not even an office! We are, quite literally, where our volunteers, supporters and adopters are. Everything we accomplish is thanks to people like you who support us with their time, talent and love.
Our small gift to you this season is tales of success - Happy Tails we call them - tales that you made possible this year. |
| | Happy Tails - Ziggy!
One of our favorite Happy Tails this year is little Ziggy, who we featured in our Giving Tuesday e-newsletter and our year end mailing. If you didn't receive a copy of our year end letter in your mailbox, you can read it here:

| And there are SO many other Happy Tails that you made possible this year! Here are just a few more!
Spencer (Jude) and Morgan (Atticus)
|
| Week one was pretty much keeping the boys in the basement and letting them get comfortable with their new environment. Other than a daily visit with Beau (mostly us bringing the cats upstairs), they focused on exploring every crevice and corner of the house and experimenting on several different wet foods (we haven't found anything they don't like yet!).
Week two, the boys took it upon themselves to start exploring upstairs. In fact, they've become very nocturnal and basically have the run of the house all night! This weekend everyone was coexisting in the living room at the same time (although Spencer/Jude is still a little hesitant). As long as Beau can nap in his chair, I don't think he much cares who else is in the room.
Bottom line, they are adorable and even the dog is enjoying them. Thank you again for all your help with the adoption process.! |

A Seriously Happy Fiona! (Or maybe seriously nappy?) |
| The Seinfeld Trio of Tabbies
The Seinfeld trio came in from a shelter in far southern Virginia. We took all three thinking we would have to split them or at least one of them. All three were at Leesburg for over a week, scared, not coming out, but a wonderful adopter came along, saw all three and adopted them all that same week!
Turns out, all they needed was a loving home!
|
| | | | We close out our last Happy Tail of 2020 with a classic holiday story, about a grumpy old man who lost his spirt of joy until he is greeted by... not 3 ghosts, but one onery old Tom Cat.
We hope you enjoy this twist on a classic Christmas Carol! (Click on the title below)

| | Wrap Up the Year Helping FFGW!
FFGW alumnus Luke loves his crinkly paper from Boon! (Don't tell him it's really wrapping paper!)
And Luke says - the Post Office isn't going to deliver your presents on time anyway, so you may as well buy some more gifts, cards and papers and say it wasn't your fault it's late!
40% of every purchase price goes directly to FFGW!
|
| Also - don't forget to use our Amazon link for anything you buy there - the price doesn't change but a percentage goes to FFGW! Thank you! |
