| | This summer update... is a scream for help. With kitten season only just beginning, FFGW is desperate. We need:
(1) Fosters - the more we have, the more cats and kittens we can save - not only kittens, but cats like Tucker, who is out of chances: |
| | | Pleas like this are flooding our inbox, and it crushes us to say that we have no room. Foster moms, foster dads, if you can open your spare bedroom, perhaps a lodger in your home office... please fill out a Foster Application (here) if you're a new foster, or just respond to this email if you're already an approved foster with room. |

| | (2) Advance Warning! If you're currently fostering, we need to know about any time periods in the next few months where you will be unavailable - with no fosters to spare, we struggle to move cats when fosters are on vacation, and the more advance warning of your schedule we have, the more time we have to panic find other lodging! |
| | (3) Money. This is hard to ask, but it is essential. It is amazing the amount of money that it takes to bring a litter of kittens to readiness for adoption - an intake exam to make sure there are no problems, deworming, flea treatment, spaying or neutering, placement of a chip - and that's if there are no additional sicknesses on the way to adoption.
In 2021, FFGW took in - and spent - $260,000, virtually all of it on veterinary expenses and supplies for the adoption center.
Where did that money come from? Nearly all of it, from donations. In addition to small fundraisers throughout the year, such as the current wine fundraiser (see it here: Wine Fundraiser - if you're on Facebook, please share the link on your own page and invite your friends!) and specific requests such as for Max's treatment (see it here at the top of our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/felinefoundationFFGW) we send out 3 mailings a year. (You can see the most recent mailing here: Spring Letter)These letters bring in the majority of our funds. And yet... while our appeal in spring 2021 brought in $20,000 much-needed dollars, this year the letter raised less than $2000. Why the difference? Perhaps the economy, and we understand that... but it's hard to explain to those feline faces...
We are an all-volunteer organization, and we can guarantee that 100% of your donations are used to rescue cats and kittens who otherwise face a bleak, and short, future. We humbly ask that you use the donation link below to help us continue to do so in 2022 and beyond.

Use the button on the left for anything Amazon, select the Feline Foundation of Greater Washington as your designated charity. Your price doesn't change but a percentage of your purchase goes to FFGW!
In 2021 we received over $1000 through the Smile program, which donations were enough to provide 3-4 spays or 5-6 neuters - for an entire litter of kittens!

I Feel Like Something Chewy!

www.chewy.com is a pet product company specializing in home delivery of all things pet-related. FFGW has a "wish list" which you can find here:
Any products you select from our wish list will be delivered directly to us for use at our adoption center at PetSmart and by our fosters!
If you're new to Chewy, we'll even get a gift certificate for bringing in a new purchaser. It's a great way to help us in our mission to help the kitties!
