Subject: FFGW Spring Newsletter - Springing into Homes!

Spring 2021

Home.

That's the Single Word that Describes FFGW's Mission.  Home.  That's what your donations provide.

When the big tomcat came up to a volunteer in a parking lot, he spoke as clear as day the one word he had somehow learned - "Home."

It's unusual for an apparently feral old tomcat to be friendly. As if that wasn't enough, a big old tom who so clearly spoke such an important word charmed the volunteers who took him in, and charmed the couple who came to the adoption event - looking for kittens - and left with Butch, a one-word tomcat.

Home.

That's the goal for every cat that comes into FFGW's care, even when they haven't mastered English. Home is the goal of every volunteer at FFGW.
Home is what your donations to FFGW provide.

A Very Contented Butch at Home
Home is sometimes not a straight path, but when getting to home has unexpected twists and turns, your donations enable FFGW to still bring cats home.

When FFGW takes in a cat, we pledge not only to find it a home, but to provide all necessary medical care. Sometimes, that's just a routine exam, vaccinations, spaying or neutering... but sometimes, a cat needs much more. Sometimes, we know that more than ordinary care is needed, and sometimes not, but it is our mission to always do our best to provide what is needed in the best interest of the cats in our care.

We can do this, as a result of your generous donations which give us the ability to handle unexpected costs - for cats like Bach.

You can read all about Bach in our mailing which should have reached your mailbox last week.  If you haven't yet received the mailing, you can read all about Bach's path to home HERE.
Another Story of Home - A Pekoe Update!

Pekoe was an FIV+ cat, one that many rescues would not take.  FFGW saw his sweet personality and took a chance.  From there, his adopter tells the story!

Today is 1 year since I brought Pekoe home. I was supposed to foster him but the moment you told me someone was interested, my heart broke at the idea of letting him go. Adopting him was one of the best decisions of my life.

He has not only helped me through quarantine but he has filled my home with so much joy. I started fostering dogs last summer and he has been so patient will at 15 of my fosters. He is also a great big brother to my new kitten, Marty. They are inseparable and Marty thinks he is the coolest thing on Earth.

He continues to be happy, healthy, and cuddly. He didn’t let the fame of being the cover of the AWLA calendar go to his head. His vet continues to say he is such a sweet cat, she even said she can’t tell if he has a heart murmur or not because he kept purring during his whole appointment.

Thank you for all the work you do with these cats; without you Pekoe and I would not have found each other and I cannot imagine my life without him! Thank you so much from me, Pekoe, and Marty!
Home! That's the goal, and that's what your donations allow us to do!

Right now, we need you more than ever, because it's Spring, and that means...

MEW!

It's Kitten Season!
Even Though the Kittens are Springing in... Don't Forget our Seniors!

I Feel Like Something Chewy!

Actually, not that chewy, but "Chewy"!

www.chewy.com is a pet product company specializing in home delivery of all things pet-related.
FFGW has a "wish list"  which you can find here:

Any products you select from our wish list will be delivered directly to us for use at our adoption center at PetSmart and by our fosters!

If you're new to Chewy, we'll even get a gift certificate for bringing in a new purchaser.
It's a great way to help us in our mission to help the kitties!

You can also help us by making your Amazon purchases through our "smile" link!

You can use the button on the left for anything Amazon - your price doesn't change but a percentage goes to FFGW!

So far this year we've received over $450, which provides 16 distemper shots - enough to completely protect two litters of kittens!

 Thank you!
