A Brand Mew Look!
Kittens aren't the only thing brand new this month - we have a whole new and fresh look for our website www.ffgw.org and a new look for our newsletter!

Check us Meowt!

We're so very grateful for the time and talent donated by the animal lovers at the marketing and branding organization Evergreen & Co., making our new logos possible!

What hasn't changed - our dedication to saving cats and kittens!
We may look a little different, but as we head into our 26th kitten season at FFGW, we remain committed to our mission:

To provide necessary veterinary and loving foster care for every animal in our program, to find them permanent, adoptive homes where they will be treated with love and respect for the rest of their lives, to provide foster care for life if no adoptive home can be found, and to educate the public regarding responsible cat care.

Rescuing cats and kittens is only possible with the support of our village of volunteers, fosters, and donors.  We thank you for 26 years of support, and look forward to the next quarter century!

We're Drowning!

FFGW that is - FFGW is drowning in kittens and cats, and we need your help!

If you can foster kittens this kitten season, please let us know at foster@ffgw.org

Please also help spread the word of this urgent need - ask your friends and neighbors!

You can post our Foster Flyer which can be downloaded HERE

This is turning out to be a challenging year because of so many kittens being born as a result of limited vetting available during the pandemic. In addition, many people are taking well-deserved vacations and are unavailable to foster. Please direct anyone to our website to complete a foster application and we’ll get back with them. Spare rooms are just fine as we know sometimes our kitties may not be able to have the run of the house. Not just kittens, but also adults need foster as they are often overlooked during kitten season.

We have been able to find adoptive homes for over 175 kitties so far this year and hope to find homes for at least that many in the second half of the year!
FFGW SalutesCat Dads!

Last month on Mother's Day, we paid homage to FFGW moms - feline mothers, and the foster mothers who work very hard to nurture them and their baby kitten families. Last weekend was Father's Day, and so we salute some special "fathers" - Cat Daddies!
Sincere thanks from FFGW to the men involved with FFGW's cat rescue effort!

It seems in some quarters that caring about cats isn't thought of as a mainly thing to do - or else, there would be no market for this shirt...

Definitely an image problem - and then there's the bad image that male cats carry around. "Tomcatting around" is hardly a compliment.
...and then, of course, there's the Crazy Cat Lady Doll... never a Crazy Cat Guy Doll!

Wait - that may actually be a good thing!

At FFGW, we only have to look as far as our volunteers, to know that rescuing cats is also a guy thing.  Volunteers like Jason, who is always ready to lend a hand when we need some "muscle" setting up an event (that's him, bench-pressing cats in the first photo), or incredibly dedicated fosters like Fred!
Fred has been fostering for FFGW for 16 years, and has fostered more than 60 cats!  His wife credits him for introducing her to cats. Fred's favorite foster was Edie, who was deaf and nearly blind, and lived to be 21.  Fred says he will always keep a cat no matter how long it takes to find a home, and he's "grateful with how generous FFGW is with the cats they rescue; the cat's welfare comes before concerns about cost."  Truth is - FFGW is grateful for Fred's compassion.

We're not sure who is more relaxed - Fred, or his cats!

We're also extremely grateful for fosters like Ammar, who involves his whole family in the effort!   Ammar tell us that last year with the pandemic going on and the kids staying at home, he decided to start fostering cats to give his kids some kind of responsibility and at the same time to enjoy the time with the cats.

"Fostering was a fun and a sad experience for us at the same time.
It was fun because we have new cats coming in and we have to go through the experience of having them get adjusted to us and to the new environment they are in, but at the same time it is sad seeing them leave us after being part of the family. The more time the cats stay with us the harder it is to say bye to them.
The kids now are making an album with all the pictures that they take with the cats to keep it as a memory of the time they had with them."

Among the things we're grateful for is Ammar's family's awesome photographic talent!  When we look at their photos, we just want to reach into the screen and hug the kitties!
Ammar tells us that they got their current four foster cats when they were close to 6 weeks. The family was so patient with them, and now they are adjusted and they enjoy the family's company as much as Ammar's family enjoys them!

Talk about progress... at the beginning the kittens would always run to hide under the couch when they heard the door open but now they run to the door to greet Ammar.

"It is fun and relaxing after a long day to sit down and have them come and cuddle around you after a long day at work."

Thanks, Ammar, for being such a great Cat Dad!

Thanks to all of our wonderful fathers, and volunteers, who help us save cats and kittens.  It takes a village, and we are so glad to live there with all of you!  We hope you had a meowvelous weekend with lots of kitty kisses and hugs!
There's still plenty of time to join our village and foster this kitten season!  Just fill out a Foster Application online:

I Feel Like Something Chewy!

Actually, not that chewy, but "Chewy"!

www.chewy.com is a pet product company specializing in home delivery of all things pet-related.
FFGW has a "wish list"  which you can find here:

Any products you select from our wish list will be delivered directly to us for use at our adoption center at PetSmart and by our fosters!

If you're new to Chewy, we'll even get a gift certificate for bringing in a new purchaser.
It's a great way to help us in our mission to help the kitties!

Thanks to everyone who has donated food, treats, litter, beds, toys...  Chewy's platform doesn't allow us to see the names of our generous donors, but please know that your support is very much appreciated!  And if you drop us a line and let us know when you donate something, we'll be more than happy to send our thanks!

You can also help us by making your Amazon purchases through our "smile" link!

You can use the button on the left for anything Amazon - your price doesn't change but a percentage goes to FFGW!

So far this year we've received over $450, which provides 16 distemper shots - enough to completely protect two litters of kittens!

 Thank you!
