Pawtriotic Cats

A score of years ago, our Founder brought forth upon this continent a Rescue dedicated to saving the lives of shelter cats. As we celebrate this 243rd anniversary of the founding of the Republic, and continue our efforts to form a more purrfect union, establish justice for homeless cats, provide for the common defense of abandoned kitties, promote the general welfare of felines and secure the blessings of liberty to our cats (so long as they don't go outside), let's take a moment to remember and cherish what our fourfooted - ah, forebearers have taught us:

Ask not what your cat can do for you, ask what you can do for your cat...
-John F. Katnnedy

Pawtriotism is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady devotion of a lifetime. Sort of like spending an entire morning stalking a mouse.
-Catlai Stevenson

Pawriotism is easy to understand in America; it means looking out for yourself by looking out for your cat.
-Catvin Coolidge

Under the law of nature, all cats are born free, every one comes into the world with a right to his own purrson...This is what is called purrsonal liberty, and is given him by the Author.
- Thomcat Jefferson

And so, this July weekend, we give thanks to our volunteers who give up their time to staff our events so that the greatness of this nation can be shared with each and every cat, and our supporters and donors who provide us with the resources to bring freedom to shelter cats in our area.

We are especially thankful for the generous donations to our Virtual Nursery, where you can see several very happy kittens celebrating their freedom from the shelter and playing among toys, scratchers, treats and beds.  The Nursery is still open, and still needs your help!
When FFGW takes in a cat or kitten, we provide a vet visit, deworming, flea treatment, age-appropriate vaccines and spay/neuter (we cover spaying/neutering for all kittens even if adopted before they reach an appropriate age).

The cost for each cat is approximately $500, if no additional treatment or vet visits are needed, and our adoption fee covers less than half of that cost.

A single litter of 4 kittens and mom could cost FFGW $2500!

We want to help lots of moms and kittens in the nursery, and we truly appreciate your help so far!  Please help us allow more kittens and momma cats to taste the freedom that comes in a loving foster home and then in a forever home!

Simply go to our Donation Page Here, or use the button below - select or enter the corresponding amount, select "Nursery" from Tribute Type and in the message block tell us which item you're donating.

We'll add the item to the nursery, email you the updated photo, and you'll also see it appear on our Facebook page and in our monthly newsletter - with our sincere thanks!

Want to put a name on it?  If you want to honor a cat or person let us know, and we'll add a name to a cat or mom that you sponsor, for an additional $10!

Thank you SO MUCH!

No, we’re not kitten – ah, kidding. Did you know that orange cats are “red” and grey cats are “blue”?
