| | | | FFGW Summer Mews!
How can it be mid-summer already? Technically, summer runs from June 20 to September 22 this year, so we're just 2/3 of the way through the season. Certainly, this summer has been not what anyone expected. We started this year with secret plans for what would have been an awesome and fun super-special summer event which would have raised a lot of money for FFGW, but... well, maybe we can make it happen next year. SSSsshhhh - it's still a secret, but we promise it'll be awesome!
We've run a few smaller fundraisers, which are still active - see below - and thanks to your generous support we've been able to maintain our mission to place cats and kittens into loving homes.
One thing that *has* happened just as we expected was Kitten Season - The good news is that thanks to the flexibility of our volunteers and the awesomeness of our adopters, we have been able find a LOT of forever homes. See below for one of many stories, and check out the revised adoption numbers at the end of this newsletter.
We're not yet having regular adoption events, but our cats are back at the adoption center at the Leesburg PetSmart - and we need volunteers to help care for them - contact Brittany@ffgw.org

Bonnie & Clyde
Ridley and Odin, now Bonnie and Clyde, joined a home with another adult kitty, Fatty.
Their adopters tell us that they love napping on the couch; especially Clyde and Fatty; Bonnie will cuddle after she’s done running around being crazy.

Clyde is calming down, but Bonnie still acts like a kitten. Which means Clyde gets pounced on and wrestled at least five times a day! One of Bonnie's favorite activities is to run up the stairs, through all the rooms, run back down the stairs, lather, rinse, repeat.
We think Bonnie and Clyde have found the perfect home, with a purrfect friend! |
| | Clyde fetches his play mouse and brings it over as a gift. He has to inspect and approve any repairman who walks in the house! His adopters feed some stray cats on their porch right outside the window. But some greedy local vultures have found the food! Clyde will stand in the windowsill on his tiptoes with his arms stretched to the ceiling and HOLLER at those beasts. |

We've Gone Home!
Adopted Cats - April, May, June and July 2020

In our last newsletter we counted 58 cats adopted in April through June - but we didn't have the final numbers. We now know that the dedicated work of volunteers, fosters and of course adopters resulted in 132 cats and kittens adopted those months, and another 37 in July, for a total of 169! Thank you so much!
