The traditional Feng Shui approach is three-fold:
- Cure problems the bathroom is generating for the floor plan (according to the bagua map)
- Make sure it’s safe.
- Keep it clean.
Then come the habits recommended for dealing with bathrooms:
- Put the toilet seat and lid down before you flush.
- Keep all bathroom doors closed except to go in and out.
- Spend as little time as possible in the bathroom.
However, most people I know are not content with that. Most people want to have a beautiful bathroom – a bathroom that could be showcased in a home decor magazine.
Do you?
- Do you imagine coming home and having plenty of time to unwind, take a bubble bath, and relax?
- Do you visualize coming out of your bathroom invigorated from so much pampering?
I do.
Unlike the old time Feng Shui masters who saw a bathroom as an “indoor outhouse,” I understand that bathroom rituals are part of the way we take care of ourselves in modern times.
So here comes the challenge, how to have a beautiful bathroom, where you can feel pampered, while at the same time staying Feng Shui correct? You have to stay Feng Shui correct because otherwise the bathrooms in your home can suck down your chi (life force) down the drains.
