Friend,
One spring, a friend of mine had to move into a home that wasn’t her dream home.
She made a vision board and pasted a photo of a mansion on it, to let the universe know what kind of a home she wanted.
To give her intention power, she drove every afternoon to a neighborhood full of mansions to walk her dog. After three months, the people who lived there started treating her as a neighbor.
Then fall came and with it the end of daylight savings. When she came home it was dark. She opened her own door and turned on the light, and then it hit her that her living room looked like a warehouse. It was full of cardboard boxes. She had told herself it didn’t make sense to unpack when very soon the Universe would deliver her mansion.
She had spent five months neglecting the home she did have in hopes of manifesting a mansion.
Then she did some soul searching. What would she do with a mansion? She lived alone. She had one daughter and one grandson. She didn’t really like to throw large parties.
What would be the point of a mansion? From that day on, she started walking her dog in her own street and getting to know her actual neighbors. She also started working on turning her current home into a dream home.
Wealth is not something that can be attracted
Most people put photos of mansions on their vision boards because they think that’s what being wealthy means. And yes, some wealthy people live in mansions, but that doesn’t mean that every person would be happy in one.
The Feng Shui standard of happiness is a home small enough that you feel closeness to your loved ones, but large enough that you don’t feel cramped.
Many teachers tell you that you can manifest anything you want if you visualize it right and put the right emotions behind your intent.
However, they are missing a simple truth about wealth.
The wealth area is ruled by the wood element (symbolized by a healthy tree in a thriving forest), and that means that wealth needs to be grown, not attracted.
