What is luck, really?

Friend,

The other day I shared with my boys the movie The Joy Luck Club, based on the novel by Amy Tan.

The movie is a collection of stories of second generation Asian American women, struggling to come to terms with their mom's old ways from China.

These modern Asian American women scoff at what they see as their mothers' superstitious beliefs, so focused on whether something is good or bad luck. In the end, learning about their moms' stories helps them understand where they were coming from, and that they were always seeking the good of the future generations.

Part of the original misunderstanding between moms and daughters in the movie is that the word luck means something really different in East Asia than what it means in our Western culture.

What is luck, really?

While in our Western culture we tend to equate luck with chance – things that happen at random and are out of anyone's control – in ancient Chinese Medicine, of which Feng Shui is part, luck is understood as the things that happen to a person as a result of the condition of their energy field, or aura. Hence, good luck can be created with good habits and good Feng Shui.

When your energy field is healthy and strong, good things happen to you and around you.

If your energy field gets weak or unhealthy, you become more accident-prone, and seem to be a magnet for trouble.

How Feng Shui improves your luck

Feng Shui improves your luck by creating a home environment that promotes the health and strength of your energy field.

Worries, overthinking, fears and frustration – they all weaken your energy field.

If you Iive in a home that is stressing you out, your energy field will be weakened.

If you carry with you the sting of past trauma, your energy field may have become unhealthy.

Nine steps to improve your home and your life

While other people practice a type of Feng Shui that is based in Chinese astrology and numerology, the type of Feng Shui I practice is based on the principles of ancient Chinese Medicine.

By following these principles you create a healthy home, and as a result of this, a happy life.

I want to invite you to learn more about how your home can improve your life by reading this article and watching the video on this page.

Many Blessings,

Moni
