Step 2: Balance Extremes

Last week I shared with you that Step 2 in the Nine Steps to Feng Shui® System is to balance extremes, and that common features that need to be balanced are long and narrow hallways.


A long and narrow hallway can feel dreary, because there are two extremes at play here:


  • One is the length, this is an excess.

  • The other one is the narrowness, this is a deficiency.


In Feng Shui we seek to balance excesses and deficiencies. Last week I shared with you the best images to place at the end of the hallway. You can see these images here.


Today, I want to share with you the best images to place on the sides of hallways, to make it seem like the hallway is wider. Placing images that have long distance perspective on the side walls of a hallway reduces the feeling of deficiency due to the narrowness.
