If your home has a staircase, you're likely to be facing Feng Shui problems that belong in steps 1, 2 and 3 of the Nine Steps to Feng Shui® System.
Step 1 is Completing the Floor Plan. Sometimes a staircase can create an incomplete floor plan if it is located right on the corner (for example the wealth corner or the love corner) or a midpoint of an exterior wall (such as health or career). This is especially true if the staircase is enclosed by walls on both sides.
Step 2 is to Balance Extremes. Extremes are anything that is too much (an excess) or too little (a deficiency). If your staircase has no landing then your staircase is too steep. If your staircase has walls on both sides, then it is too narrow and probably too dark.
Step 3 is to Activate Vitality by making sure chi (the life force) circulates properly. A staircase pulls down chi from the upper floor to the lower flow, thus depleting the upstairs. Then when it gets to the bottom the chi creates turbulence (similar to what happens at the bottom of a waterfall). You can't have great energy if you are dealing with depletion in one floor and turbulence in the other.
