Are your bathrooms luxurious?
Feng Shui traditionally sees bathrooms as sources of problems only.
It's understandable, when you think about the fact that, when Feng Shui came to be, "bathrooms" were outhouses.
And then there were literal "bath houses" too.
The functions of collecting excretions and bathing used to be completely separate, not just in China, but all over the world.
Furthermore, in many cultures there were places to wash yourself before you went into the bathtub. Bathing was for pleasure and healing purposes only – not for cleansing. Bathing was also a social activity!
Our modern bathrooms, thus, try to unite three functions (collecting excretions, cleansing, and bathing) that were originally meant to be apart.
Most Feng Shui advice is meant to minimize the problems created by bathrooms.
However, in the Feng Shui Dream Home Creation Lab, for the next few weeks, we'll be taking about how to make bathrooms luxurious, so that you get to have the feeling of a spa experience at home.
