Before I had children I used to paint a lot.

Pregnant with my first boy, I promised myself I would not abandon my art, but it didn’t take long after he was born to realize that little kids and oil paints don’t mix. Right before my second child was born, I finally decided to give away my painting supplies, which had remained untouched for three years. 

While the boys were growing up we worked on a lot of art projects together. It was fun, but it was development of their creativity, not mine. 

Now that my youngest has started to drive himself to school, I feel the need to take care of those parts of myself I set aside for my kids.
