Friend,
The power position is that location in any room where you can sit down while having an indirect view of the door, but not actually facing the door directly.
The most typical way to place a desk is wrong
Most people, when they get a new desk, they push it against the wall. When they sit down to work at their desk, their back is to the rest of the room.
This is a disempowering position. Part of your brain is constantly trying to figure out what is happening behind you. Anyone can come in silently and startle you.
When you work in this way, you are less productive, and less confident on your own thinking.
Turn things around
Sometimes, the fastest way to turn around a situation is to simply turn the furniture around.
Turn around your desk and chair so that there’s a wall behind your chair, and so that you have full command of the room when working. Be mindful to organize and hide any cables that may have been made evident with this change in furniture placement.
The effects of good Feng Shui are cumulative. Expect to become more productive and efficient over time.
