Dear Friend,

I’m sad today.

Our younger son left home last weekend. While we knew he was searching for a place to live with his girlfriend, we thought we had until summer to adjust to the idea. However, he found a great opportunity and seized it.

On one hand, I’m genuinely happy for him. It’s wonderful to see him thriving and relishing his life and newfound independence.

Yet, I also feel sorrow, especially witnessing my husband struggling to hold back tears.

Luckily, I have Feng Shui to guide me.

All of our emotions have physical places they reside in. 

I noticed that as soon as my son moved out, two spots in our home triggered feelings of sadness for both my husband and me. One was his chair at the dining table, and the other was his bed.

Every time we passed the dining area, the empty chair reminded us of how it would mostly remain vacant, except during his visits.

Similarly, his bedroom held an empty bed, which would only be used when he had guests.
